UrbanPromise Honduras
Mission
To inspire the children and youth of Honduras to fulfill their dreams by equipping them with the skills necessary for life management, academic achievement, spiritual growth and leadership rooted in the Christian faith
Blair Quinius and Matt Wall, former interns of UrbanPromise, developed a vision to take the UrbanPromise Model to the town of Copan Ruinas, Honduras. They launched a pilot program in February 2009, reaching over 100 children. After a three week pilot, the demand for this type of program was evident. A full-time program will be launched in June of 2009 providing AfterSchool programs to approximately 40 children from the public schools and summer camps for 40 private school students. Local teens will also be engaged in leadership within the AfterSchool program.
