Programs
AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM
Tutoring: To increase the academic achievement of children in mathematics, language, science and history. Project TEACH provides a safe environment with caring leaders to teach and tutor participants. In addition to tutoring, they will learn basic exam preparation skills and simple ways to use them. School attendance and quarterly grades will be monitored.
Meal: To serve at least one healthy meal per day to each participant. This will provide children who come from poor families with enough nourishment to function well physically and mentally in the program and for the remainder of the day.
Bible: To provide children with glimpses of how much God loves them through Bible stories, one-on-one talks, and planned out lessons. Project TEACH organizes activities, games, or skits to help children understand who God is and the faith and hope we have in Him.
Recreation: To provide a safe and controlled environment where the youth will participate in organized games and activities, as well as unstructured time with various options provided.
Educational Trips & Field Trips: To use recreational and educational trips to provide an opportunity for children to get out of their typical environment and experience new things. Trips also offer a chance for them to connect with peers and leaders outside the program.
STREETLEADER PROGRAM
Tutoring: To provide encouragement and academic assistance to teenagers in order to improve grades, attendance in school, and graduation rates. Through these mentoring relationships, we will develop solid Christian teenagers who are genuinely concerned and interested in helping younger children academically, socially, mentally and spiritually.
Job Opportunity/Experience: To provide a safe working environment and job experience, which is vital in Malawi. We will train and guide students as they learn job skills, including interviews, job performance, and peer leadership.
College Application: To advise youth as they choose colleges and careers and assist them in completing a professional application.
SUMMER ATHLETIC LEAGUES
Soccer & Basketball Leagues: To provide solid and uniform instruction in basketball and soccer. These leagues serve as positive, chaperoned activities for the youth during vulnerable afterschool hours. We will facilitate moral and spiritual development of youth through team involvement and leadership.
