Malawi is located in the South East region of Africa, sharing boundaries with Mozambique, Zambia, and Tanzania. It is a landlocked country that depends on Mozambique and Tanzania for the shipment of basic commodities.
Rise Malawi is located in the Dowa district. Dowa is one of nine districts that are found in the central region of Malawi. The district covers an area of 3,041 square kilometers and has a population of 411,000. Over 56% of the whole population in the Dowa district are young people. The Dowa Region is one of the poorest areas of Malawi. RiseMalawi works closely with the teachers and children at Madisi Primary School. This partnership provides RiseMalawi with space for programs and allows them to monitor the progress of program participants. The school appreciates the additional support provided for their students during after school hours.
