About this ministry

Since 2010, UrbanPromise Miami has been building the Path to Promise for the children and youth of Little Havana. Our mission is to equip children and youth of Miami with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, spiritual growth, and leadership. We fulfill this mission through AfterSchool Programs, Summer Camps, experiential learning, job training, and a host of other programs that challenge youth to develop and realize their potential.

Areas of Focus

Delinquency Prevention

  • BARS (Bringing Awareness to Risky Situations) program
  • Focus on consequences of bad choices
  • Situational awareness training 

AfterSchool Program

  • Improves academic performance and life skills
  • Offers tutoring and educational enrichment
  • Develops God-given talents

Counseling Services

  • CHAT (Connecting, Healing, and Achieving Together) program
  • Holistic care for UrbanPromise families
  • Direct assistance from caring counselors 
We provide children with fun, educationally-based, and age-appropriate activities, including art, music, sports and recreation, Bible study (i.e. activities aimed at bringing to life Christian principles such as love, respect, forgiveness, etc.), life skills workshops, guest speakers, community service activities, and field trips.
UrbanPromise Miami encourages youth ages 14 to 18 to become role models to younger children participating in the programs, providing an opportunity for youth to stay connected with UrbanPromise Miami while developing important life and leadership skills and remaining involved in their community.
We currently are working with 55 kids through our afterschool program in Little Havana.
