Date of Birth:  May 2006
Grade Level:  9th Grade
I am a smart young boy who was born in Burundi. I came to Malawi running away from wars after my father was killed in the process.
I left Burundi with my mother when I was 7 years old; life was hard as she used to tell me. We arrived at Dzaleka (a refugee camp in Dowa, Malawi). Life was easier because we didn’t have oppression and impending civil war on our back in Dowa; however, life was hard still. Mother decided to go find work in Lilongwe (capital city) as a maid. Upon arrival, we slept there ( at the bus station) and when I woke up in the morning my mother was nowhere to be seen; she abandoned me. It has been 7 years since I last saw my mother. I became a street kid to make ends meet. I met Uncle Hamilton at a shelter where some street kids and myself would go to get help. Uncle Hamilton was homeschooling us and teaching us about God at the same time. The child center was later closed due to poor conditions, and we were forced back to the streets again. Uncle Hamilton later found us and put us up at another shelter; he has been helping us with school fees and accommodation. My name is Moses Thengeza, I am in standard 8 and I want to be a Human Resource Manager when I finish school. Besides school, I love teaching my friends and playing soccer. Thanks for reading my story.
I wake up every morning at 5:30 am, giving thanks to God, asking Him for protection and provision of food.
My prayer is that life coaching ministries can get funds to start a safe home so that I can move out of the streets. I wanna eat proper food, and dream good dreams on my bed.
