Children Alive Ministries (CAlM)

 

Our mission is to empower children in urban Mukono to be community leaders by offering academic support, character development, spiritual development, and recreational and enrichment programs.

 

Our vision is to raise a generation of young people who are academically, ethically, and spiritually exceptional, contributing to their culture and raising their own families to bring about positive social change in urban Mukono.

 

Children Alive Ministry (CAlM) operates 30 minutes outside of Kampala, the nation’s capital. 56% of the population in Mukono are under the age of 18, and these children suffer from a high incidence of child abuse and low educational attainment. CAlM comprises of three After School Program sites, two on the north side and one in the urban center.

Our Programs

After-School Program

Serving 200 School Age Children 
annually since 2019
  • Homework assistance, mentoring, and home visitation
  • Life skills lessons, Bible classes,
  • Music, dance, drama, and field trips

Street Leader Program

Serving 25 Teenagers 
annually since 2019
  • Area teenagers learn valuable skills
  • Trained as counselors, tutors, and mentors
  • Serve in our After-School Programs and Summer Camps

Intern Program

Serving 10 High School Graduates 
annually since 2019
  • Interns serve in our AfterSchool Programs and Summer Camps
  • Participate in Bible study and discipleship classes
  • Receive leadership training

Children Alive Christian School

Serving 116 Students Ages 3-10 
annually since 2019
Children Alive Christian School starts educating children in a holistic manner at 3 years old, throughout their primary school years. Classes are taught by certified teachers while incorporating the word of God and play into the classroom environment. The school not only works with the students but also holds parenting classes as well. Children Alives believes that home is an essential part of the learning experience.

Sunday School Training Program

Serving 602 Sunday School Teachers 
annually since 2019
Children Alive Started with its Sunday School Teacher Training Program and continues to reach and teach hundreds of Sunday School Teachers yearly, helping them develop ways to share God's word in a way that the children will understand and remember.
