In-kind Gifts | Budget Reductions

UrbanPromise International relies primarily on private individuals, churches, corporations, and foundations to finance our programs and operations. We strive to manage our budget in the most cost-effective manner possible. In-kind gifts—non-monetary contributions of goods or services—enable us to direct the majority of dollars to our ministries and fellows. 

Each in-kind gift is tax-deductible and an alternative way for donors to influence the lives of those we serve. The following Budget Reduction and Wish List items have been requested by staff who work directly with our ministries.

Corporate Gift Matching

Many corporations will financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations Companies usually match donations at a 1:1 ratio, but some will match at a 2:1, or even a higher ratio. Most corporate matching programs allow you up to one year to request their match on your donation. Check with your employer to see if your company matches employee donations. 

After donating via cash, check, or credit card, keep your gift receipt in case your workplace requires it.

Two ways to submit a matching request:

  • Download your company's matching gift verification form. Print, fill out, and mail it to us: UrbanPromise International, PO Box 156, Pennsauken, NJ 08110. Once we receive your form or online request, we'll take care of the rest. Your company will send its matching donation directly to UrbanPromise International.
  • If your company provides a link to their intranet, use this information to log in and submit your matching gift request. It will be processed and sent to us.

Girls’ Raising Hands-YouthPromise Centre Kenya

Growing up in Kenya, girls are often not encouraged to raise their hands and engage in their education. I was once like these girls and I know how it feels to go through such challenges. Girls' Raising Hands will give hope and increases chances of success to underprivileged girls.

In 2017 RiseMalawi added the Youth Dream Center as a program that gives young people who have graduated from High School to receive discipleship, and job skill training.

Yamba Childcare-Community Primary School

In 2018 Ronald began ministering with the YAMBA Childcare students. His time with them helped him develop a passion and vision for the launch of Yamba Community Primary School. Ronald observed that 100+ students involved in YAMBA deserve a holistic primary school in their community.

RiseMalawi Elementary School

RiseMalawi Elementary School is envisioned to educate and produce young leaders who will end poverty in Madisi Village. We will achieve this by providing quality and holistic education with enough academic resources to our learners. By holding hands together, we will bring a positive change. The distribution of the money is as follows construction of a classroom block and toilets : $ 33 000, furnishing : $ 12 000, staff Salary (Annual): $ 15 120, school materials(books, television, playing materials, utilities, stationary) :$5 800. The fundraising timeframe is from June 2023 to September 2024.

In Fall of 2025 Love Driven Ministry will launch it's newest project in the Juma area in Salima, Malawi. Chikondi Christian High School will create an opportunity for the youth to continue their formal education through secondary school.

Hope Cooperative Farm

The Hope Cooperative Farm is an initiative aimed at providing financial and material support to girls in the Nguluwe community, enabling them to complete their education. Sadly, many girls in this community drop out of school due to a lack of resources, which exposes them to early marriages and pregnancies. This project seeks to provide learning materials to these girls, giving them hope for a brighter future.

MercyCare Farm is an extension of MercyCare Malawi Ministries. Our vision is to become a food basket for all programs run by MercyCare Malawi Ministries through cultivation of crops and raising of animals on the farm. The following programs will be the beneficiaries of this project; Afterschool program, summer camps and the High schools.
