My name is Wezzie.
We were born 11 children in our family, where 7 are girls, and 4 are boys. I come
from a very remote village which has more grass thatched house, and only a few
people who have houses that have iron roofs, and cement flow. And for most of us, our house fours are made of mud, and I come from a one house like that one.
My parents are small scale farmers of which they do not get enough to cover the whole family, and the food harvested does not sustain us for the whole time in a
year. This is so, due to lack of enough farming resources.
There are so many school drop outs in our village, and the reasons being, lack of
school fees due to poverty, most of the families do not manage to send their
children to school, as such they just drop out of school when there seem to be no
future of your education. However, some of the youths are involved in early
marriages, the same idea that you do not have fees and there is no hope, many youths just get married so early and start small scale farming just to sustain their
lives.
When I finish school, I would like to be a nurse, and help out a lot of people. Most importantly, I would to act as a motivation to most of the girls in our community to
prove that life can change if you hold on to your studies.
