My name is Shirleen. When I grow up, I want to be a Doctor. I joined Youth Promise in 2019 through one of my friends. I have gained a lot of benefits from the organization during the holiday camps.
I live in a slum area with many semi-permanent houses, some with no water or electricity supply. My mother does any available casual jobs to provide for my siblings , my father and I with basic needs. My father lost one of his legs to diabetes last year and it has been tough for mom and us.
I wake up, bathe take breakfast, and prepare for classes. Throughout the day, I study hard and carefully do any assignment given. In the evening, I clean my school uniform and do revision for what is taught through the day.
Pray for me to get support to go through my education well. God to help my mother get a job to be able to continue providing for our basic needs.
