Bakka Academy Project Learning Pathways Initiative (LPI) is excited to unveil its ambitious project – Bakka Academy, a primary school in Bakka. This initiative aims to comprehensively implement the child sponsorship program, ensuring quality education for underprivileged children.

Scope:
Bakka Academy will host classes from Primary 1 to Primary 7, providing a conducive learning environment. • Facilities: The school infrastructure will include classrooms, a main hall, staff offices, and administration facilities. •

Purpose:
Bakka Academy is dedicated to offering quality education to children sponsored by LPI and extending its impact to non-sponsored children through subsidized fees.

Project Phases:
Land Acquisition (Phase 1): Securing the foundation for Bakka Academy. Classroom Block (Phase 2): Construction of Block A for Primary 1 to Primary 3. Expansion (Phase 3): Completion of classrooms for Primary 4 to Primary 7 and additional facilities.

James is a Professional Fellow of the University of Liverpool, UK. He has been working as a Principal HR Officer at Uganda’s Ministry of Public Service. Currently, James works as the Manager, HR at Uganda Registration Services Bureau. He is always empathizing with underprivileged children from his past. James' life has been marked by overcoming adversity and helping those in need. Born into a poor agricultural family, he was the ninth of ten children, relying on meager harvests for sustenance. Despite financial struggles, he completed his primary education due to Universal Primary Education (UPE). High school involved switching schools due to financial constraints. In 2004, he became homeless and that is the point when “Auntie Stella” provided him a home, thereby becoming a mother figure. He excelled academically, graduating from Makerere University with honors in Social Sciences in 2012. In 2022, James attained his Master’s Degree in Management Studies form Uganda Management Institute.
